Major Music – offering young people musical opportunity in the Vale of Glamorgan

Due to circumstanses beyond our control Major Music work shops will not resume on Tuesday 16 April but will now start on TUESDAY 23RD APRIL. Appologies for any inconvenience.

Our last session before the Easter holiday was Tuesday 19 March, and we will resume on Tuesday 16 April.

Lianne Morgan will be running vocal coaching workshops every Tuesday from 7.00pm – 9.00pm.

It’s that time of year again, the evenings are drawing in, the weather is turning and your back to school. But on the bright side Major Music Tuesday workshops are recommencing on Tuesday 9 October at the usual time 7pm and at the usual place, the youth centre. Bring along your friends as new members most welcome,. Dont forget to let us have your ideas to improve your Major music experience, we love to have your feed back!

Have you always wanted to be in a band, write a song, rap or sing live? If so then come along to the Major Music Summer Rockschool. We will be running two Rockschools over the summer period at Llantwit Major Youth Centre:
July 31st – August 3rd (11 to 15 year olds)
August 7th – August 10th (16-25 year olds)
Time 10am-4pm
£5 for the week.

The showcase event which took place on April 3rd, was the culmination of all the hard work invested by a number of young people, staff and volunteers at the ‘Learn it, Play it, Gig It’ workshops which took place during the February half term holiday and follow on workshops. The event gave those young people involved the opportunity to perform for their peers in a professional atmosphere – with stage and lighting. The ‘Learn it, PLay it, Gig it’ workshops and event were run in partnership between Major Music, Vale and Bridgend Youth Service’s, and where it is hoped to run similar events again in the future.

Major Music will be on a half term break next Tuesday 14th February, but will be back a week later on Tuesday 21st.  For those of you who can’t wait a week to get going again don’t forget the Roland Drum workshop that takes place at the youth centre, Friday 17th February at 2.00pm. All are welcome to attend this demo and see a ‘true drum pro’ in action!
