After the success of previous years, Xmas Rocks is back! This year its going to be bigger and better than before and a great chance for you to put all our new music kit to the test. Over the next month we need everyone interested in performing to learn at least one Christmas Song of their choice and perform it as part of their set on the night. We want soloists and groups and even the odd collaboration so if you have any ideas please feel free to express yourself at the next Major Music session or by emailing us.
It will be a better night if you can let all your friends and family know about the event. The more support you/we get the better.

There is lots going on at Major Music in the run up to Christmas and preparation for the forth coming events is the key to a successful night. This is just a reminder to everyone about the importance of attending Major Music over the next couple of weeks to get all the musical sets ready for the Pierhead event on the 6th December … not forgetting also the Xmas Rocks event on Friday 10th December at the Arts Centre!
Also we need to know in advance the names of family, friends, etc. who are planning to attend the Pierhead event. Please could you let one of the mentors know at the next session if at all possible.

Major Music presents an audience wih Luke Edwards, keyboard and synthesizer specialist from Roland UK.
Luke will be playing and demonstrating the latest in the range of Rolands keyboards and synthesizers so come along and watch a master at work…its free!
All takes place at Llantwit Major Youth Centre on Wednesday 27th October.
Demonstration Session will take place at 2.00pm.

It’s Bank Holiday ‘Plug & Play Night’ at The Blacksmiths Arms, Llanmaes on Sunday 2nd May. Here’s another opportunity for all parents and friends of Major Music to relax and enjoy an evening of live music. Its also a chance for the music maestros amongst you to air your talents in the friendly atmosphere of the local pub whilst raising much needed funds for Major Music. The evening kicks off around 7.30 with each act performing 20 minute slots, so get there early to get your name on the list for the evening. Normal licensing laws apply.

Major Music will be hosting a Beatles Tribute Night on Friday 30th April 2010, 7:30pm at St Donats Arts Centre.
Following on from the success of Xmas Rocks, Major Music is hosting its first ever ‘Tribute Night’ . The evening is a show piece event for all the Major Music Bands and will also feature our surprise special guest band. One to watch out for!!
Each of our bands will be given the opportunity to perform up to three songs each, and to keep with the flavour of the evening at least one of the songs is to be a Beatles number.
Tickets are £5.00 available in advance from St Donats Arts Centre, or at the door on the night.
Major Music meets every Tuesday evening between 7.00pm and 9.00pm at the Llantwit Major Youth Centre.
